Claims management

Always on hand,
even when it
hurts

Establishing our own in-house claims management team was an early priority for us, and having this facility alongside our risk management and broking team is something that differentiates us as a commercial insurance broker.

At any given moment, we have our finger on the pulse when it comes to a client’s claim and are in the best possible position to turn claims around as quickly as possible, whether that’s getting a vehicle back on the road or their business back up and running as normal.

However, it is not all about the aftermath of an incident. Our astute claims team is well-versed in analysing clients’ risk profiles in such a way as to literally spot accidents waiting to happen. Taking a proactive approach, they can often step in and prevent claims occurring, simply by spotting trends and suggesting the right risk management strategy to prevent repeat occurrences.

Our team is meticulous when it comes to evidence gathering and making liability decisions on claims. Just as importantly, it is rich in people skills, which makes the claims process as smooth and painless as possible for all our clients.

Controlling the claims process, as well as the risk placement and ongoing client liaison programme is absolutely key to our success at McCarron Coates. Having our own, in-house claims team is yet another reason for our success, and for the fantastic testimonials that our clients provide for us.

Claims management
starts at the roadside

When one of your drivers is involved in a serious collision, they’re traumatised, vulnerable and at most risk of incriminating themselves, the company and company directors. Many drivers assume they must speak to the police, but at that point they:

Risk making suggestions about what has happened
Incriminate themselves or the company
Have their phone seized for evidence, leaving the company with no way of contacting the driver
Give the company no insight into the police investigation
Make it difficult to control the media story, leading to reputational brand issues
Often generate expensive compensation claims

Our RTC Crisis Line service gives your drivers immediate and direct access to legal representation. In one call, they get instant legal advice from a criminal lawyer – any time, day or night. Plus, the lawyer may be able to attend the scene of an accident to ensure early access to critical information that would otherwise be locked away until after the criminal investigation.
