Insurance Partner to Help Members Negotiate Risks and Challenges

04.04.24 · News

The British Furniture Manufacturers Association is delighted to welcome award-winning independent insurance broker and risk management specialist, McCarron Coates, as its insurance partner.

The commercial insurance broker will channel its many years of combined insurance expertise, to add value for BFM members, by providing a professional insurance service and first-class risk management advice.

This is delivered by a forward-thinking team, which has won the highest insurance accolades in its industry.  McCarron Coates has been rewarded for its approach to broking through prestigious Insurance Times, National Insurance and UK Broker awards.

It is also a team renowned for thought leadership in the insurance sector and access to a wide network of A-rated insurers, which appreciates the broking team’s accurate presentation of risks.  This results in McCarron Coates often accessing preferential rates and schemes – something from which BFM members may benefit.

The broker can handle all of the risks impacting the average BFM member, including manufacturing and engineering, transportation, property, equipment, business interruption, cyber and public, employee and management liability.  It can also provide cover for more niche risks prevailing within a particular business.

BFM Managing Director, Phil Spademan, says, “We are delighted to announce McCarron Coates as our insurance partner, to help guide members towards first-rate and insight-filled insurance advice.

“This independent brokerage’s pro-active approach to managing risk is one that its own industry has rewarded and we are pleased to make this more widely available to our membership and associates.  The brokerage’s focus on first-rate service delivery aligns with our own values, making them the ideal choice of insurance partner.

“We are experiencing both a hard insurance market and many challenges within the furniture manufacturing macro-environment, at present.  The more we can have McCarron Coates add value, through the provision of expert risk management advice, the more we can potentially reduce the impacts on our manufacturing, associate and retail members’ budgets and businesses.”

Luigi Maggio, one of three directors at McCarron Coates, adds: “Being invited to be the BFM’s insurance partner is a great honour and we look forward to working with members, to help them better manage their risks and build more sustainable and stable businesses.

“With our expertise and experience in the manufacturing and woodworking sectors, as well as other areas such as fleet, we can also identify gaps in cover and potential aspects of under-insurance that could catch a business out.”

Members wishing to get to know McCarron Coates better can do so at the forthcoming BFM Furniture Component Expo, taking place between April 24 and 25 in Telford.  McCarron Coates will be on Stand 94, ready to answer any questions that a member may have.
